Kingstone School Governors

Carol Roberts

Back to Governors

Type of Governor: Community (Formerly Parent Governor)

Time on board: Since 1998

Specialism: Community/Performing Arts

Why did you become a Governor?

Basically because I was coerced! However, having been heavily involved for some time in other aspects of the school it did seem to be a fairly logical step, and, over the ensuing years, I have found the role to be complex, fascinating, puzzling, frustrating, gratifying and quite a few other ‘ings’ that I’m unable bring to mind just now.

What is good about Kingstone?

The strong compassionate leadership, overseeing an immensely talented, dedicated and committed team of teaching and support staff, which in turn cascades down to the students, who, in my opinion, receive every opportunity to achieve to the best of their abilities through a wide and varied curriculum.
The many extra curricular activities available to both students and members of the wider community also help to encourage our young people to grow into confident, responsible citizens.

What are your hopes for the future of Kingstone?

I sincerely hope Kingstone continues to build links with the local community, whilst retaining the personal approach with the students, to give the security confidence, ambition and relevant qualifications to go forward and lead satisfying, happy and productive lives.
